Robotics Engineer
Work on a real autonomous vehicle, not just a simulation – from development and integration through testing to real drives in Bratislava traffic.
At dius.ai, we're building Jarvis – a personal AI assistant with long-term memory. Alongside our AI products, at Dius Lab we also build autonomous systems for the real world. We're currently working on an autonomous vehicle built on the Volkswagen ID.7 platform, which we also test in real traffic in Bratislava. We're a small technical team, so you won't be working on just an isolated part of the system. You'll see the whole process – from development and integration through testing to the vehicle actually driving.
What you'll actually work on
developing and tuning autonomous navigation algorithms for mapping, localization, and route planning on top of the Autoware platform
integrating and calibrating vehicle sensors – LiDAR, cameras, and IMU
working with data from real drives – collection, validation, annotation, and dataset preparation
contributing to the development and integration of Computer Vision / perception models for detecting traffic elements such as traffic lights, road signs, or lanes
handling the integration between the autonomous stack and the vehicle, including the vehicle interface and bus communication
collaborating on the integration of external perception components, such as object detection and tracking
analyzing system behavior and tuning it based on data from real drives
taking part in test drives on a closed site as well as in real traffic
What will help you succeed in this role
You don't need to know the entire autonomous stack. What matters is a solid foundation in robotics and the ability to find your way around a complex system quickly. What we expect from you:
hands-on experience with ROS 2
experience developing in C++ and/or Python
experience integrating robotic systems or sensors, e.g. LiDAR, camera, IMU
a basic understanding of areas such as localization, mapping, perception, or path planning
the ability to work with sensor data and systematically debug issues in a real system
independence and the drive to solve problems where the answer isn't known in advance
What you'll work with
How the hiring process works
Tell us a bit about yourself
No cover letter needed. A CV, LinkedIn, GitHub, or portfolio is enough - whatever best shows your experience.
Prescreening
A short online interview where we go through your experience, expectations, and motivation. We also introduce the team, the project, and how we work.
Practical online simulation
For some positions, you will go through a short online simulation lasting up to 6 minutes. It is designed to be quick, but still show how you approach a real situation and think in practice.
Meeting with the team
An in-person or online meeting where we go deeper into your experience, way of working, and expectations. No puzzles, no whiteboard quizzing.
Offer
If it is a mutual fit, we align on the terms and send you a fair offer.
What you get on top
Fair compensation
Transparent pay that reflects your experience and drive.
Fitness & rest
Gym in the H2O coworking building, extra vacation, and sick days.
Flexibility & Focus
Hybrid work mode and regular meeting-free Focus Days.
Technology
A cutting-edge stack, our own 3D printers, and top AI conferences.
Mobility & housing
Carsharing and the option of discounted housing right in Devín.
Urban AI hub & Devín calm
Our new office in Eurovea brings the energy of the city, a modern tech vibe, and space for fast collaboration. Devín remains our place for focus, deep work, and a reset in nature.
